Costco Just Recalled Salsa Due to Contamination

Key Takeaways

  • San Juan Salsa Co. salsa products are being recalled in select Costco locations.
  • This is due to the cilantro in the salsas being contaminated with wood fragments.
  • There are no injuries or illnesses connected to this recall.

Costco just announced a recall on eight different salsa products, according to a published member letter. This is due to the cilantro in the products being potentially contaminated.

The San Juan Salsa Co. salsa products were sold at select Northwest Costco locations from December 19, 2024, through March 17, 2025. The following products are being recalled:

  • Mild Salsa with best-by dates from March 3 to May 23, 2025
  • Medium Salsa with best-by dates from February 27 to May 22, 2025
  • Hot Salsa with best-by dates from March 3 to May 23, 2025
  • Traditional Salsa with best-by dates from January 29 to April 23, 2025
  • Pineapple Mango Salsa with best-by dates from March 24 to May 23, 2025
  • Verde Salsa with best-by dates from January 21 to April 14, 2025
  • Mens Room Roasted Red Salsa with best-by dates from March 18 to May 22, 2025
  • Costco 32-ounce Medium Salsa with best-by dates from February 27 to May 22, 2025

Check your refrigerator for these recalled salsas, and if you have one of the impacted dips on hand, dispose of it or return to your local Costco for a refund. These salsas may be contaminated with wood fragments following a recall on the cilantro used in the product. While there are no illnesses or injuries connected to this recall, contact your healthcare provider if you are experiencing any potential side effects after consuming one of the above products.
