Chelsea Handler has a comedy career that spans decades, but she feels like her life is just getting started.
On a recent podcast episode of Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, Handler shares stories of her life, talks more about her new book I’ll Have What She’s Having and reflects on aging. When host Kylie Kelce asks the comedian about her “overall excitement” on turning 50 this year, Handler’s answer is fully positive.
“I feel like 50 is a reset. It’s kind of like a rebirth, a restart,” Handler says to Kelce. “I feel so positive about my life and the way that it’s turned out that if I could talk to myself as a little girl, [I’d] be like, ‘Oh my god, it’s gonna be okay.’”
Not only is she enthusiastic about aging, but Handler says she doesn’t feel “old”—she simply feels more confident than ever.
“I’m so excited that I have this lease on life,” she explains. “I’m so excited that I have so many women in my life to share this kind of birthday and milestone with, and I’m so excited [by] my energy level.”
Handler also tells Kelce that she’s “the happiest I’ve ever been in my life.” We love seeing Handler feeling her best at 50, using all her reflection and wisdom to feel more confident in herself than ever before. The comedian and writer credits her increase in confidence to therapy and reading more, which inspired her to want to become “the best version” of herself.
