Sabrina Carpenter Just Shared Her Mom’s Easy Appetizer

  • Sabrina Carpenter shared her mom’s 7-ingredient cheesy dip recipe in a new cooking video.
  • She also revealed her “go-go juice” cocktail with tequila or vodka, pineapple juice, ginger ale and lime.
  • The dip is quick, no-bake and perfect with chips or veggies—easy to prep ahead for guests.

Sabrina Carpenter is a woman of many talents, from being a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter to stints as a Broadway actor and film star. Carpenter admits that her talents are more limited in the kitchen, but she’s still game to whip up some family recipes and go-to beverages in a new video. Let’s just say we *can’t blame a girl for trying,* and we’re happy she did, because we now have the Carpenter family’s beloved appetizer on standby to make ASAP.

In a recent video with Vogue, Carpenter shared some of her favorite recipes, including her “go go juice” that helped her create hits like “Manchild” and “Tears.” It consists of tequila or vodka, ginger ale, pineapple juice and fresh lime juice. Refreshing and easy, the singer says she fell in love with the drink while writing her latest album, Man’s Best Friend.

To pair with the drink, the pop star also shared a dip recipe that her mom has been making since Carpenter’s childhood, saying “it’s an heirloom.” It requires just seven simple ingredients, requires no oven and will impress any guest.

All you need to whip up the dip is chopped veggies like tomatoes, onions and jalapeño peppers as well as shredded extra sharp Cheddar cheese, freshly squeezed lime juice, cilantro and softened cream cheese that’s been microwaved for easy mixing.

Mix together the tomatoes, onions, jalapeño pepper, chopped cilantro, lime juice and shredded cheese before adding in the softened cream cheese. As you mix in the cream cheese, the ingredients will combine and create a thick, luscious, cheesy dip that would be delicious paired with chips or crunchy veggies.

You can make this quick dip ahead of time by storing it in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator hours in advance. To serve, Carpenter tops off the dip with fresh cilantro leaves for brightness.

We think Carpenter would love our Loaded Black Bean Dip, which is highly-rated and embraces similar flavors. And since she’s a fan of puppy chow, as she prepared some in the video for her sweet treat, we would love for her to try our Muddy Buddy Energy Balls for a protein-packed make-ahead snack.
