Ritz Crackers Are Being Recalled Right Now

  • Ritz recalls 20-count peanut butter cracker sandwiches in eight states.
  • This is due to mislabeling and allergen risk; some peanut butter packs are mislabeled as cheese.
  • The recall follows the July 2025 recall for the same product in different pack sizes.

A recall on Ritz products sold in eight states was just announced, according to a company announcement. This is due to mislabeling resulting in an undeclared peanut allergen.

The crackers affected are the 20-count, 27.6-ounce boxes Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches. These snacks have a printed UPC of “44000 07584 2,” best-by date January 8 or 15, 2026, and a plant code “AE,” which can be found on the top of the 20-count packaging. The recalled Ritz products were sold in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.

“The affected cartons include individually wrapped packs that may be incorrectly labeled as Cheese variety even though the product may be a Peanut Butter variety,” Mondelēz International, the parent company for Ritz, explains in a press release. “People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts may risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions by consuming this product.” Seek immediate medical attention if you are experiencing symptoms of anaphylaxis after consuming the recalled cracker sandwiches.

This recall follows a nationwide recall on Ritz sandwich crackers from July, which were recalled for the same manufacturing issue. The current recall is not an expansion of the July recall, but it offers more information about the states where those crackers were sold. Check your kitchen, and if you have the recalled snacks on hand, dispose of them or return them to your place of purchase for a potential refund.

For questions about this recall, contact the company at 1-844-366-1171 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
