Walmart Recalls Over 200,000 Stoves Nationwide

  • More than 200,000 Ozark Trail camping stoves recalled for fire, burn and explosion risks.
  • The affected stoves were sold at Walmart and linked to 26 incidents, including 16 burn injuries.
  • Stop using the recalled stove and return for a full refund; other products are not affected.

A recall was just announced on approximately 201,000 stoves sold nationwide, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). This is due to a serious burn, fire and explosion risk.

The stoves affected are the Ozark Trail Tabletop 1-Burner Butane Camping Stoves with printed model number “BG2247A1.” These camping stoves were sold at Walmart stores across the U.S. and online at Walmart.com from March 2023 through October 2025 at prices between $8 and $45.

This recall follows 26 consumer reports received by the company of the camping stoves catching fire or even exploding. This includes 16 reports of injuries as severe as second-degree burns. If you have this stove on hand, return to your local Walmart for a full refund.

No other Ozark Trail products are currently impacted by this recall. For questions, contact Walmart at 800-925-6278 from 7 a.m. through 9 p.m. CT or visit www.walmart.com/help for assistance.
