Southern Grove Trail Mix

Design elements: Courtesy of Brand. EatingWell design.

$4.99 per 10-ounce package; available October 1

Everyone needs a go-to packable snack, and trail mix is a fan favorite. Sometimes, trail mix can double as a dessert, like this month’s Southern Grove trail mix in two irresistible flavors. The Chocolate Mint mix is a blend of salted roasted peanuts, mini mint drops, fudge mini cups, chocolate cookie gems, dark chocolate-dipped almonds and fudge brownie bites. The Chocolate Caramel Coconut flavor contains coconut caramel bites, roasted almonds, coconut-flavored mini cups and caramel mini cups.

Each serving has 10 grams of added sugar (about 20% of your daily allotment), but when eaten in moderation, these trail mixes can fit into most healthy eating patterns. If you’re trying to limit or avoid added sugar, then making your own trail mix is a good idea, as you can add any combination of nuts, seeds and dried fruit you want. Check out our Homemade Trail Mix recipe to get started.

If you’re in the mood for baking, give our Homemade Multi-Seed Crackers a try. You could even whip up a healthy quick bread—which will also give your kitchen a cozy scent boost.
