92 Illnesses Linked to Salmonella Outbreak

  • FDA has recalled cage-free eggs due to a Salmonella outbreak tied to 92 illnesses.
  • The eggs were sold under three brands in California and Nevada, but this recall may expand.
  • You should dispose of or return recalled eggs, as Salmonella risk is severe for some groups.

There’s an active recall on brown eggs connected to a Salmonella outbreak, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This recall has been connected to 92 illnesses.

The large brown cage-free eggs impacted were sold in 12-count egg cartons by the following brands: Nagatoshi Produce, Misuho and Nijiya Markets. The eggs’ sell-by dates range from “7/1/25” through “9/16/25,” and each recalled carton has a printed code of “No. CA 7695.” In addition, bulk cartons of Country Eggs were sold to restaurants and other foodservice institutions with the same affected sell-by dates.

These eggs were distributed in California and Nevada. Check your refrigerator for the recalled eggs, and if you have any on hand, dispose of them immediately or return to your place of purchase for a refund.

It is likely that more egg brands will be impacted by this recall. Salmonella infection (salmonellosis) can cause serious illness for those who are pregnant, immunocompromised, age 65 or older and for young children. Common symptoms include diarrhea (which can be bloody), nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps and headaches. If you are showing signs of foodborne illness after eating a recalled product, consult with a healthcare professional as soon as possible.
